Cookies

And how we use them at WAVEiii.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small plain text files stored by your web browser on your computer or mobile device. They store information that websites can read the next time you visit.

How we use them at WAVEiii

Websites use cookies for all kinds of reasons. Advertising, traffic measurement, personalizing your experience and more.

At WAVEiii we use them for several things:

  • To recognize you when you return, so you don't have to sign in every time
  • To help you get back to your event if you choose to authorize us to connect to your Fitbit or Strava account
  • To help us recognize your Event Coordinator when they sign in.
  • To keep non-players from poking around in your activities.
  • To automatically end sessions of players who are inactive for too much time.
  • and finally
  • to turn off the bright yellow cookies disclaimer on the home page once you click the OK, got it button.

What cookies are on my device?

You can always see what cookies are being stored by your browser. You can even delete some or all of them if you like, or block sites from setting them.

If you use Chrome (like most people), look in your settings page under privacy and security. This page from Google will help.

Firefox users can check this page from Mozilla.

We do not use any 3rd party cookies on any WAVEiii event, ever.
